The Government allocation to support refugees has grown to Sh200 million from Sh16 million since the Refugee Act 2006 Kenya hosts nearly 350,000 refugees from Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan and the Great Lakes region.

Massaba Rural Development Organization is a Kenyan local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose mandate is alleviating poverty through initiatives in health, food security, environment and small business development. Massaba was registered in Kenya in 2004 under the NGO Act of 1990 with its head office in Nairobi and Field Office in Kisii and Nyamira districts.

MRDO was initiated by a group of professionals with a task of bringing lasting change to the lives of children and families living in abject poverty through improved health, education and other integrated rural development programmes.
MRDO-Kenya is run by the the Board of Trustees of 5 which articulates policy issues of the organization. It is run by FT staff of 4 and PT staff of  10 who are volunteers .The day to day activities of the organization is run by the Programmes Coordinator who reports to the Board....
